Ventilation
A lack of fresh air can make the air feel heavy and overly warm. It can also lead to humidity imbalances and put homes at risk for damage from mold.
Keeping the Air Flowing
You can improve air circulation by opening windows and doors whenever possible. If you’re concerned about safety or energy loss, consider a ventilation system, which exchanges stale indoor air with fresher, cleaner outside air.
Keeping the Fan Blowing
Another option is to switch your thermostat’s fan setting to "auto" or "on," even on mild days. This will use more electricity, but the costs can be minimized by installing a variable speed furnace or air handler.
